Ant-Man and The Wasp: new Quantumania trailer

The 2023 Super Bowl is shaping up to be a great watch, even if you have no interest in American football.

Not only is Rihanna performing during the halftime show, but we’re also expecting trailers for some of the most anticipated movies of the year to drop.

The Big Game attracts huge television audiences, so Hollywood studios usually spend heavily to promote their upcoming blockbusters during commercial breaks.

US broadcaster Fox is charging $7m (£5.7m) for 30-second ads during the game, according to Variety.

Last year, we had trailers for Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Jordan Peele’s sci-fi horror Nope and Jurassic World: Dominion.

We also got glimpses of TV shows including The Rings of Power, Moon Knight and the final seasons of Better Call Saul and Killing Eve.

This year’s Super Bowl kicks off at 11:30pm UK time on February 12. These are the trailers that could start during the game.

Marvel

Ant and the Wasp: Quantumania lands in theaters on February 17, just five days after the Super Bowl, so it’s highly likely that we’ll get an extra look at the Marvel sequel.

Paul Rudd will make a special appearance as Ant-Man in a Heineken advert during the game. A 15-second preview was made available online last month.

Marvel could also leave teasers for James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3due on May 5, and The Marvels (July 28).

But there probably won’t be any ads for the Disney+ series Secret Invasion, according to Deadline. The Samuel L Jackson-led show does not yet have a release date.

Away from Marvel, Disney could splash out to promote its live-action remake The Little Mermaidwhich stars Halle Bailey as Ariel and will be released on May 26.

The studio may also reveal new teasers for Pixar’s Elemental (June 16), and the return of Harrison Ford i Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (June 30).

The first full trailer for DC’s The Flash (June 16), starring Ezra Miller as the superhero, is expected to make its debut during the Super Bowl.

We could also have a promo for Michael B Jordan Religion III, before the film is released on March 3.

Universal

Elizabeth Banks horror comedy Cocaine Bear it will be promoted with a pre-game announcement, before its release on February 24.

We can also expect to see the trailer for X fastthe 10th installment in the Fast and Furious franchise, before the film hits theaters on May 19.

But Deadline reports that The movie Super Mario Bros (April 7) is not getting the Super Bowl promo treatment.

A meta-horror sequel Scream VI It’s out on March 10, so the Super Bowl would be the perfect time to drop a new trailer.

The same goes for Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (March 31), featuring an all-star cast including Hugh Grant, Chris Pine and Regé-Jean Page.

The real importance of the summer blockbusters could also be promoted Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (June 9), the ninth entry in the action franchise.

But we might not get a new trailer for the long delay Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One (July 14) just yet.
